The unidentified miscreants unscrewed 17 street light poles and stole 34 LED street light bulbs (120 watt) from the spot. The miscreants left the poles at the road divider only, putting the lives of the commuters at risk.
Ending a three-decade-old inheritance battle, the Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a Punjab and Haryana High Court verdict awarding the majority share in the Rs 25,000-crore assets of erstwhile Faridkot Maharaja Harinder Singh Brar to his daughters Amrit Kaur and Deepinder Kaur.
With slight tweaks, a bench of Chief Justice of India Uday Umesh Lalit and Justices S Ravindra Bhat and Sudhanshu Dula upheld the Punjab and Haryana order granting the majority share to Amrit Kaur and Deepinder Kaur. Amrit Kaur had challenged the Maharaja’s will in 1992.
The three-decade-old Faridkot royal family dispute over assets worth Rs 25,000 crore is expected to be over soon as the Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on rival claims over late Maharaja of Faridkot Harinder Singh Brar’s erstwhile Faridkot estate.
