Kandiyohi County was awarded a $4.9 million state Border-to-Border broadband grant to help fund a Federated Telephone Cooperative broadband expansion project in five townships.
The four candidates running for the open District 3 Kandiyohi County Board seat participated in a candidate forum Friday held by the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. The four shared their views on several issues raised by chamber members.
The Aug. 9 primary election will decide which two candidates will move on to run in the general election for the open District 3 seat on the Kandiyohi County Board. Voters will need to decide between four hopefuls Dale Anderson, Karl Kaufman, Joel Johnson and Kim Larson.
The filing period to run for county elected office closed Tuesday afternoon. Several individuals filed to run for the Kandiyohi County Board and for sheriff.
