MAMA Jostina Sangweni’s family is pleading with the justice system to not only give their family justice, but justice for all victims of gender-based violence.
Speaking to
Daily Sun, mama Jostina’s son-in-law, Jabu Moagi, said women and traditional healers have been called witches without any evidence.
“The suspects don’t deserve bail. An example should be made out of them. Their act was ruthless and demeaning. So far the police have displayed competency and have been working hard targeting the main suspects,” said Jabu.

IZANGOMA are tired of being ill-treated by the community.
This comes after they went to the CRL Commission to hand over a memorandum of grievances following the murder of Mama Jostina Sangweni (58).

It s understood the CRL Rights Commission will probe the murder of a mentally ill woman who died after a mob attack in Soweto.
Jostina Sangweni, 59, was beaten and died in hospital.
Her daughter said she was diagnosed with schizophrenia last month.
An independent body has stepped in to investigate the circumstances of the murder of a mentally ill woman in Soweto.
Jostina Sangweni, 59, was attacked last week after she was accused of witchcraft. She was in a critical condition when she was found after the attack and was taken to hospital, where she died.

But the gogo wasn’t mad. She had been diagnosed with a mental illness.

Jostina (58) from Emdeni in Soweto was beaten and burnt after her dementia kicked in and she lost her way home in Mapetla.
Last week
Daily Sun published the story of her dressed in sangoma clothes. In the video she was being sworn at and kicked. Her dad Samson (82) said: “I’m torn inside, especially the way they painted her as an evil person.
