Our correspondents gathered that the killing took place at about 8:00pm in Kum Village of Riyom LGA, and the youths killed were identified as Titus John and Iliya Daylop. One of the protesters said the killers came in military uniforms and attacked three youths guarding their community as local vigilantes, but one was able to escape but the other two were shot. The abducted student of Kings School, otherwise known as Capro Secondary Mission School located at Gana Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State has regained freedom, the military authorities have confirmed. Gunmen had in the early hours of April 29 kidnapped the students in Capro, which is few kilometres away from the Yakubu Gowon airport and about 60 kilometres from Jos, the state capital. However, three of the students escaped while one remained in captivity. But in a statement issued yesterday, the spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Major Ibrahim Shittu, said troops rescued the remaining student in captivity on Saturday. ....

Spokesman for Operation Safe Haven, Major Ibrahim Shittu, in a statement on Sunday said Eze was rescue by the troops on Saturday. Recall that during the attack on the school on Thursday, the gunmen abducted two students but one of them was rescued after a gun battle with security operatives. The statement said, “Troops of Operation Safe Haven on Saturday, May 1, 2021, around 8.35pm rescued a student of Kings College, Mr Kelvin Eze who was kidnapped by bandits on April 28, 2021. ....
