An inaugural indoor volleyball tournament for year 7 and 8 students from schools within the New Plymouth district was held at the TSB Stadium on Wednesday. Hosted by the Spotswood Volleyball Club, the competition had 22 teams from seven schools participating in either social or competitive grades. Set up by the Mayors Taskforce For Jobs (MTFJ) in the late 2000s, the programme involves local mayors selecting up to two rangatahi from their district to mentor on a one-to-one basis, to encourage and enhance leadership skills. ....
