SEBRING–Sebring school staff members on Saturday received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Teachers, bus drivers, support staff, and administration who pre-registered for the vaccine through the district were vaccinated in a clinic at Columbiana High School. More than 50 percent of Sebring staff pre-registered for the vaccine. Saturday’s clinic was part of a three-day vaccine distribution coordinated between district leaders, Mahoning County Education Service Center, local health organizations and the clinic partner, Giant Eagle.
“We have been fortunate that we have been able to provide in-person instruction since the beginning of the school year due to planning, coordination, and diligence of our team,” said Sebring Superintendent Toni Viscounte. “Our teachers and students have followed safety protocols and social distancing since day one. We are thrilled to be able to offer our staff another layer of protection as we continue into the second semester.”
