with first-degree murder in the 2012 death of emily fazzino. he has pleaded not guilty, saying she drowned in a bathtub. todd: des moines police release new details in a late night shooting. it happened around 10:30 last night at 1422 east 17th court. 22-year-old dustin lee curtis of des moines told police he was visiting his child and girlfriend. he walked outside to his car and heard a pop sound, then felt pain in his stomach. police say the incident is suspicious and believe curtis wound may be self inflicted to gain sympathy from his girlfriend. the case remains under investigation. stacey: right now two inmates , are missing from the newton correctional release center. the iowa corrections department says michael amodeo and jessy foley weren t present at inmate counts saturday night. amodeo is serving a 10 year drug sentence. foley is serving a 27 year prison term. in johnston, police have identified two fraud suspects caught on surveillance camera. investigator ....

its day five of the alexander fazzino murder trial, underway in winneshiek county. 42 year old alexander fazzino was arrested in 2013 for the murder of his wife emily. emily was found dead in the couples bathroom in january of 2012. since then the trial has been moved and delayed several times. but today, after nearly a week of testimony, prosecution wrapped up their final witnesses. stephanie: local 5 s claire powell has more from the courtroom, its tonights big story. claire: the prosecution began and ended the morning with two dci agents. one who specializes in d- n-a- who told the jury she found alex s blood on the clothes he wore the night of emilys death. she also inspected emilys body- including a negative sexual assault test. the other witness was the special agent who documented a february search warrant in the fazzino household. pack- full of those blood stained clothes, and more of emilys belongings. dna, depending how the state of iowa rests claire this ....
