On Friday, Illinois will fully reopen from COVID-19, with occupancy limitations removed for restaurants, bars and other public venues. According to Indeed.com, job postings nationwide at food-services businesses were 25% above pre-pandemic levels at the end of May. The L&C Career and Veteran Services has joined forces with Madison County Employment and Training and the RiverBend Growth Association to bring employers and job seekers together 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, in The Commons on the college’s Godfrey Campus.

According to the latest data from the Illinois Department of Employment Security, the April unemployment rate for the St. Louis MSA which includes Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe and St. Clair counties dropped to 5.3 percent from 5.6 percent the previous month. The state rate remained at 7.1 percent, after dropping from 7.8 percent between February and March.
