Oman’s share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,831.70 points, down 0.04 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.57 per cent at 549.70 points. National Life Insurance, up 5.26 per cent, was the top gainer on Thursday while Oman Education Training, down 9.09 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Bank Muscat were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 1,079 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating turnover of OMR3.4 million, with more than 17 million shares changing hands. Out of 53 traded stocks, 23 advanced, 10 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR1 million while local’s investors were net buyers for OMR1 million followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR9,000 worth of shares.

Muscat Finance, up 4.65 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Madina Investment, down 4.35 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Galfar Engineering were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 1,057 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR4 million, with more than 32.7 million shares changing hands. Out of 48 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 6 declined and 24 remained unchanged. At the session close, Local investors were net buyers for OMR1 million while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR763,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR364,000 worth of shares.

Al Madina Investment, up 9.52 per cent, was the top gainer today while Sohar Power, down 10.00 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of National Finance were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 1,284 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR4.76 million, with more than 34 million shares changing hands. Out of 52 traded stocks, 22 advanced, 5 declined and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, Local investors were net buyers for OMR552,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR393,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR160,000 worth of shares.
