Canada thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing coronavirus vaccines by putting up billboards in the Greater Toronto area. The billboard reads, Thank You India and PM Narendra Modi for providing COVID vaccines to Canada. Long Live Canada-India Friendship. The billboard also mentions the Hindu Forum, Canada.
Canada received the first consignment of 5,00,000 AstraZeneca s Made-in-India CoviShield coronavirus vaccines on March 4. They are produced at the Pune-based Serum Institute of India. India will be sending a tranche of 1.5 million more doses to Canada.
Earlier this month, PM Modi spoke to his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau and assured him that India will do its best to support Canada s Covid-19 vaccination efforts.

A consignment of made-in-India COVID-19 vaccines have been received in Dominican Republic as India s Vaccine Maitri programme reached the Carribean. Delivered to Dominican Republic. Vaccine Maitri reaches our Caribbean friends, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted on Tuesday, along with pictures of the consignment being received in Dominican Republic.
Jaishankar also retweeted Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader s tweet stating that AstraZeneca vaccines from India had been received and his country will start vaccinating front-line personnel.

Several national and State highways were blocked as the ‘chakka jam’ started at noon, hampering traffic. The protests have been peaceful and no untoward incident has been reported so far. Slogans were shouted against the Centre, demanding the repeal of the farm laws.
International Federation of Trade Unions national treasurer Animesh Das was picked up at 5 a.m. and detained by Kalkaji Police, according to All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha general secretary Ashish Mittal. He alleged that police had also been posted outside the house of Pragatisheel Mahila Sangathan general secretary Poonam to prevent her movement.
