Premium Content A body has been found washed ashore at Mackay s Harbour Beach early Friday morning. Police were called to the area off East Point Drive near Mulherin Park about 6.45am with reports of a body on the beach. A police spokesman said initial investigations indicate the death was not suspicious. Scenes of Crime officers and Criminal Investigation Branch detectives were called to the area, arriving on scene after 7.30am. Premium Content Subscriber only UPDATE 12.30pm: A man has been arrested and police are questioning another after an alleged stabbing inside a unit on Shakespeare Street on Wednesday. Police were called to reports a man had been stabbed in the lower leg and was outside the Mackay City Bowls Club about 9.30am. Initial inquiries lead officers to the unit complex across the road, and to a separate location on Hamlet St about a block away. As paramedics assessed the man on Shakespeare Street, the second man was arrested on Hamlet Street about 9.45am. A knife police believe was involved in the incident was recovered on Hamlet Street. ....
