which brings the storm inland over the next 6 to 12 hours right over new orleans, potentially as a category 1 hurricane. we re talking about temperatures or winds upwards of 80 to even 90 mile per hour right around the city of new orleans. we re watching this one very, very closely but a long duration event, biggest threat is going to be the wind and, veronica, we re talking about the winds out there right now, not just the wind, but the biggest threat, the rain and slow-moving storm system and, again, that water with that easterly fetch that will be making its way, giving a huge storm surge of about 6 to 12 feet for the diration of this storm system. again, you heard doug say more landfall right around louisiana to new iberia. doug? yeah, again, the bigger threat here, the other big threat is going to be tornadoes. tornado watch in effect until 7:00 local time here. we have already seen a couple tornado warnings still in effect towards the western portion of the florida pa
