India’s Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim Union Budget on Thursday. With elections around the corner, an interim budget is presented to keep essential government operations funded until the newly elected government presents its full budget.
Law firms BTG Legal and Advaya Legal are merging to form BTG Advaya, with a total of 11 partners and offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi. The merged firm will maintain a partner-to-associate ratio of 1:4. BTG Legal was founded by Prashant Mara in 2014 after working with international law firm Osborne Clarke, while Advaya Legal was founded in 2010 by Ramesh Vaidyanathan. The merger aims to enhance their ability to provide top-tier legal services and diversify their client base.
Indian law firm Luthra & Luthra Law Office has hired Sarika Raichur and Abhimanyu Kampani as partners in Delhi from Kochhar & Co and Rajiv Mohan Law Offices, respectively.
