moments ago we re learning of new explosions in odesa. cnn s scott mcclain joining us live from lviv. what more could you tell us about all of this? reporter: hey, fredricka. so as you mentioned, this is news out of mariupol. that we are getting from russian state media who say that 25 people have been allowed to leave that sprawling steel plant and get out. sixm them are under the age of 14, they say. now we re not in a position to verify that information because we re not in mariupol. but the mayor s office had said previously that there was reason for optimism because the russians were allowing some people to move from one neighborhood nearby to the steel plant to the other side of the river to potentially link up with a humanitarian corridor. now it wasn t clear whether that would include the people from the steel plant, but it seems based on this reporting if it is true, that may be the case. and if it does turn out to be the case, that would be a major breakthro ....
