West Norfolk Council chiefs urged to encourage voter participation among EU residents Published: 17:00, 02 March 2021 Council chiefs in West Norfolk have been urged to work with support organisations to ensure that people who have moved to the area from EU countries can vote in forthcoming local elections. The call was made during a borough council meeting on Thursday and follows confirmation that polls will take place as planned on Thursday, May 6. On that date, voters will be able to choose new county councillors as well as Norfolkâs next police and crime commissioner (PCC). Norfolk s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Lorne Green, whose office is managing the funding round on behalf of partners, is inviting applications from firms which can support offenders, or potential offenders into employment. The support service, known as Pathway Out , will provide participants with positive educational experiences, training and employment opportunities to encourage them away from a life of illegal drugs. The authority in North Norfolk, which covers Fakenham, is the only one in the county which is not proposing to increase its charge next year, following a late change to its budget plans.
