A 49-year-old man was shot and killed on Friday by three Lorain Police Officers after he "retrieved a pistol" out from his pocket and refused to follow orders from officers, according to release.

Cleveland, OH - On Thursday, April 29th, 2021 around 5:45 p.m., Lorain Police Officers responded to E. 29th St. on a call of a traffic accident. Arriving officers discovered a dark colored Nissan in a yard at the intersection of E. 29th St. and Gary Ave. The vehicle had struck several vehicles before coming to rest in the yard. Contact was made with the driver, 36-year old Edwin J. Guzman of Lorain, who was still in the Nissan, and discovered that he had sustained several gunshot wounds.
LifeCare was called to the scene and transported Guzman to Mercy Hospital, where he later died.
