This is a column co-written by Executive Editor Rana L. Cash and Opinion Editor Adam Van Brimmer. Nine months ago, we published our last “Our View” editorial. For decades, this column representing the views of the Savannah Morning News’ editorial board was the centerpiece of the daily opinion page. We halted this practice as part of a larger opinion content overhaul. We’d refined our mission, with a focus on fostering and furthering dialogue and engagement about the key issues impacting the community. As we wrote then, that meant “featuring more community voices and less of our own.” That same piece featured a pledge the “Our View” editorial was not gone for good.
