Agartala, Feb 11 : Four Bangladesh-trained Tripura militants on Thursday surrendered to the security forces in the state after they fled from their camps across the border on January 31, police said.
A senior police official said that the four National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) extremists Sethi Debbarma (20), Rajib Debbarma (18), Bisharam Reang Lalong (21) and Zawmina Reang (27) fled from their camps at Bagaichari under Rangamati district of southeast Bangladesh.
Senior police officials are now interrogating the four militants, who hail from three Tripura districts. ....

Agartala, Jan 22 : Tripura police busted a nexus of monetary transactions between the militants and the contractors, and arrested four persons, police said on Thursday.
A senior police officer said that the police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) troopers, acting on an intelligence report on Wednesday, arrested four persons hours before the transaction of Rs 15 lakh to the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) extremists.
A team of police and TSR personnel led by sub-inspector Ajit Debbarma of Raishyabari police station under Dhalai district (in eastern Tripura) arrested the three persons along with Rs 15 lakh hours before they handing over the money to the NLFT rebels. Police arrested the three people and following their confession arrested an NLFT collaborator ....

The Tripura police on Friday found the decomposed body of Litan Nath who was kidnapped by extremists about 50 days ago in north Tripura. The corpse was found buried at Ranipara under the Khedachhara police station limits in the Panisagar subdivision.
NLFT extremists were blamed for the abduction of the 35-year-old trader on November 28 last year from his home at Joyrampara in Panisagar. They had demanded ₹1.50 lakh as ransom to free Mr. Nath at the time of his abduction, but made no further communication.
Police officials said the location where Mr. Nath, father of four children, was killed and buried was found on confession of Sangaram Reang, who along with three other NLFT extremists, was recently apprehended from a hamlet in Takarjala of Sepahijala district. Sangaram guided the security team to the spot on Friday morning. ....
