second-story apartment here behind me. the investigation into the cause is now getting underway. the flames burn hot inside the unit once the fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. two adults and they four -year-old child made it out of the apartment but this baby did not. we are confirming there was it fatality in the fire, the victim was under one -year-old. neighbors were awoken by the commotion. once the fire was out, news about the baby spread. we felt bad about that. the building where it happened was blocked off with yellow tape today and arson investigators are not ruling anything out. anytime we have a fatality, we want to preserve the scene. this fire did spread to next- door. there is heavy smoke damage but the apartments below will be habitable once cleaned. strong and gusty winds accompanied by heavy rain have brought down trees around the area. take a look it look at some of the damage around the oakland hills today. crews had to use chainsaws to cut
