The number of people in icu and the number of people hospitalized in the state of california. Those numbers represent our most urgent need in terms of keeping people alive and keeping people healthy and safe in the state of california. It is incumbent that we prepare for a surge in the number of hospitalizations and the number of icu patients. That 774 may be deceiving. Many of you may think, that sounds relatively modest what is happening in other parts of this country. And that may be true. But its incredibly important to impress upon you that, that number represents a quadrupling compared to where we were just six days ago. The number of people hospit ....
Exactly that. So im grateful to be here. Im also grateful for the opportunity to talk with a room of leaders who have a tremendous opportunity to have impact on behalf of or our nations children. So i know were going to get to a q a, so i wont speak for long, but i wanted to first try to frame a bit about our progress that weve made over the last seven years, some of the challenges that we face and the opportunities, the tremendous opportunities ahead. Since the beginning of the administration, we have seen significant reductions in the dropout rate. Even in this room knows last year we had the highest Graduation Rate from high school that weve ever had as a country. Thats thanks to leadership from folks in this room.
