In the first incident, drivers of two cars and two of their passengers died when their vehicles collided on the D856 road near Philadelphia in the Sekhukhune district. In the second incident, a driver also died when his vehicle collided with another car on the R81 outside Giyani. Limpopo Transport spokesperson Mike Maringa says preliminary investigations revealed that reckless driving is the possible cause of the two crashes. ....

Makhosini Msibi will tomorrow, Tuesday, release the 2020 Festive Season Preliminary Road Statistics. At the launch of the Festive Season Road Safety Campaign in Polokwane, the Minister announced that this year’s road safety target is 20% from the 2019 10% which was achieved. The Minister, MECs responsible for road safety and the RTMC CEO led road safety operations throughout the country encouraging responsible driver behavior. The Minister, MECs, and CEO continue to lead intensified awareness campaigns and law enforcement operations. ....
