To know him was to know how much he loved his magazines and how much he loved his editors. I have asked kim to come here as well as his brother to talk about what made him a unique kind of leader. I want to begin with the family. Tell me about your dad, about coming here as an immigrant and what he did and how it led to this remarkable media empire. His mother and father were immigrants. They settled on orchard street, 23 orchard street. He was born in 1895 in an orchard street tenement. It now is a Chinese Restaurant equipment company. I also visited the tenement museum. It is really an interesting experience. His family moved at an early age. Father was the oldest of eight children. His father was somewhat weak physically and often not at home. My father was the father of his seven siblings. His mother was a strong woman. My father went to law school at a time w
