If music is your idea of a great time, head to Native Vines Winery on Feb. 14.
Darrell Hoots, a Winston-Salem native will perform from 2-5 p.m. There is no admission.

City Fitness moving to Depot District
Michael Tesh loves to take the old and turn it into something new. He did that when he took the old Lexington Farmer s Co-op building into the modern, glass-walled City Fitness gym.
Now Tesh has purchased a 50,000 square-foot-building in the Lexington Depot District at 600 S. Salisbury St. near Bull City Ciderworks where he plans to locate several of his businesses under one roof. He will move City Fitness, which opened in the old Farmer s Co-op building in March 2016 on East First Street;The District Group, a realty company he recently opened in the old  National Body Paint building on Noth Main Street with partners Josh Tackett and Andrew Childers. ....

All roads lead to grandma: Lexington woman honored with street naming

Francis Burns has seen a lot of changes in the past 45 years she has lived off of Cotton Grove Road in Lexington. The most recent and, according to her, amazing change is that city officials have named the alley behind her house after her in honor of the contributions she has given to the community.
“It was really a surprise,” Burns said. “I was shocked, but I am so proud and tickled.”
Burns is the first recipient of a new honorary street designation program the Lexington City Council approved in November. ....

The Depot District in Lexington is rising from its ashes after a devastating fire in 2018 destroyed the former Lexington Home Brands Plant No. 1 and left the once-bustling area devoid of activity.
Almost two years to the day after the three-alarm fire of the vacant building, council members on Monday approved the development plans for two new businesses that will bring new life to the former Lexington Home Brands properties off of Salisbury Street.
Preliminary plans for the Railroad Street Market, located at 200 South Railroad Street between East Third and Fourth Avenues, include a restaurant/bar; an open-aired courtyard and event space; a distillery with taproom; and a barrel room with rooftop seating overlooking Breeden Insurance Amphitheater. ....
