Leominster Emergency Management recently launched Sand for Seniors, offering complimentary buckets full of a salt and sand mixture for Leominster seniors and persons with disabilities to use during the winter months.
Buckets are delivered and can be filled up again once empty by contacting Leominster Emergency Management.
“We saw another Massachusetts fire department offering this program to their citizens and we thought this would be fantastic to offer to the citizens of Leominster,” said Tyler Yalian, the Sand for Seniors point of contact and part of the Leominster Emergency Department Operations Support Unit. “This will be our first year offering the program but hope to make it an annual program.”
