Tembisa Tertiary Hospital CEO Lekopane Mogaladi plans to take on review the Health Ombud report which found that the facility failed to provide food for four days to a patient.
Health Ombud Professor Malegapuru Makgoba released his report on Wednesday after an investigation into a tweet by Shonisani Lethole, who was a patient at the hospital. On June 25, Lethole turned to Twitter, tagging health minister Zweli Mkhize as he complained about not being fed for two days. Lethole died four days after his tweet.

JOHANNESBURG - Tembisa Hospital CEO Dr Lekopane Mogaladi has reacted to the damning report by the Health Ombudsman into the death of Shonisani Lethole, saying he ll be taking it on review.
Mogaladi claims they were not given an opportunity to cross-examine the evidence.
Lethole died at the facility in July last year after being admitted with breathing difficulties. ....

Gauteng Health won’t challenge report into Shonisani Lethole’s death at Tembisa Hospital

Pretoria – The Gauteng Department of Health has stated it has no intention of challenging the damning report into circumstances surrounding the death of Shonisani Lethole at Tembisa Hospital.
The department revealed that on Thursday, a day after Health Ombudsman Professor Malegapuru Makgoba released the report.
Gauteng health spokesperson Kwara Kekana said the department, and by extension its facilities which includes Tembisa Hospital, remains committed to implementing the recommendations of the report within the prescripts of the law.
This would be after they had concluded studying the report and its findings, Kekana said. ....

The Gauteng Department of Health has denied that it plans to challenge the Health Ombudsman report into the death of Shonisani Lethole during his stay at Tembisa Hospital.

This comes after Tembisa Hospital CEO Dr Lekopane Mogaladi was quoted as saying the institution will take the report on review.
The department’s spokesperson Kwara Kekana says anyone challenging the report will do so in their individual capacity.
 
“The department, and by extension its facilities which includes Tembisa Hospital, remains committed to implementing the recommendations of the report within the prescripts of the law once the department has concluded studying the report and its findings. ....
