Ten-year-old with painful spine condition walks ten miles for vet charity Ten-year-old Maisie suffers with scoliosis, but this didn’t keep her from walking 10 miles to raise money for the vet charity that helped her dog, Rio. Maisie’s beloved Dalmatian received emergency surgery at the Bradford PDSA Pet Hospital when he suffered a life-threatening blocked bladder. PDSA Vet Rachel Bishop, said, “Poor Rio’s urethra was completely blocked which meant that he was unable to urinate unless he underwent surgery. He required a lengthy operation, where we had to create a new opening for his urine to pass through. ....

Maisie Proctor said she was determined to raise funds for vet charity PDSA, despite living with the debilitating condition scoliosis, after they provided life-saving treatment for her beloved Dalmatian, Rio. Animal-obsessed Maisie set out to walk 10 miles near her home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and now says she wants to be a zoologist.
