The Indian Navy celebrates Navy Day on December 4 to commemorate "Operation Trident", the Navy s attack on Karachi harbour during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. The event will also showcase the Indian Navy s state-of-the-art ships and aircraft to the general public and online viewers through a live telecast, the Defence Ministry official added.
The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Naval Trainer Prototype NP5 has completed its maiden flight successfully, according to Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA). The prototype NP5 will soon be used for field and carrier operations on both INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant. LCA Navy Prototypes are carrier compatible and can operate with Air-to-Air weapons for combat missions.
The aircraft demonstrated 18 arrested landings and Ski Jump take offs from INS Vikramaditya in Jan 2020, including hot refuelling capability,” a release from DRDO said.
