Market fire arrest intimidation targeted at Otokunor – Driver s lawyer
Kojoga Adawudu, the lawyer for the driver of the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said the arrest of his client by the National Intelligence Bureau is part of the intimidation ploy targeted at his client’s boss, Mr Peter Otokunor.
The NIB arrested the chauffeur in connection with the recent spate of market fires.
Within the past few weeks, the Odawna market at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, Kantamanto market in the Central Business District, Kaneshie market in Accra and Koforidua market have been burnt.
Otokunor’s driver being tortured by officials of NIB – Lawyer Adawudu
Lawyer for the driver of the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Otokunor, Lawyer Victor Kojogah Adawudu has alleged that the National Investigative Bureau is currently torturing his client.
According to him, he picked information that his client had been picked up by officials of the NIB for reasons yet to be communicated.
However, when he went to the office of the NIB, he was told that the driver had been transferred to Kawukudi and was with an official of the NIB whose identity could not be disclosed.

There was a near scuffle between members of the National Democratic Congress legal team and officials of the Criminal Investigations Department on Monday.
The scuffle ensued when the police wanted to detain Oheneba Boamah Bennie for allegedly threatening the life of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The NDC team made up of Victor Kojogah Adawuda, Francis Xavier Sosu, and Dr Basit Bamba according to the Daily Graphic had series of confrontations with the police officers over their invitation and the decision to detain the radio presenter for further investigations.
