There is this apparent view that the first amendment says two things one, congress shall make no law abridging freedom of speech and, two, no one in public office shall ever criticize a journalist. they are hypersensitive. and yes, they ve become part of the story. the second thing that troubles me about mr. woodward s journalism and some others is it focuses on who did what to whom in the process and the substance gets lost. the important questions today are should we be cutting the military? which i believe we can do safely. should we be raising taxes? and by the way, as far as the administration moving the goalposts, i would like to ban metaphors from the use of political discussions. they mislead people. but doesn t anyone remember the position that president obama and we democrats when i was in congress, was we wanted to go back to the clinton tax rates on incomes above 250,000. we were only able to get 450. so that s been our clear position for a while. there s a gap between wh ....
