RIDGEFIELD As businesses reopen, the town’s parking authority will resume enforcement for overtime violations in town-controlled lots beginning Monday.
Laurie Fernandez, who oversees the authority, said overtime violations were suspended in March of 2020 following the closure of all non-essential businesses. Other parking regulations, such as no parking in fire lanes and handicap-permitted spaces, were still in effect during that time.
An “overtime violation” is issued when a person is parked in a space longer than allotted by designated signage. For example, someone who is parked in a spot designated as a 15-minute space for longer than that would be subject to a ticket.

“On the revenue side, nearly all of it is driven by Ridgefield taxpayers. Our revenue are taxes. Ninety percent of the town’s revenues are derived from property taxes,” Redmond said.
