THE State Government launched the Sabah Welfare Foundation (YKS) during the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) First Anniversary celebration, Wednesday, with RM12.1million for starters from various government and private organisations to assist in implementing its welfare agenda in the state.
The contributors included Sawit Kinabalu which gave RM5 million; Yayasan Sabah Group through Sabah Softwood and Benta Wawasan (RM2m); WTC Holdings Berhad (RM1m); Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (RM1m); Sabah Credit Corporation (RM1m); Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (RM1m); Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (RM500,000); Ipmuda Berhad (RM250,000); Lau Gek Poh Foundation (RM200,000); Persatuan Syarikat Pengurusan Kelab Sabah @ Jesselton Waterfront (RM100,000); and Cement Industries Sabah Sdn Bhd (RM100,000)
