DANBURY Democrat Roberto Alves announced Thursday he is running for mayor, emphasizing his family’s working class roots and his desire to support residents.
“We’re facing challenges that can’t be fixed overnight,” said Alves, 37, a first-term city councilman. “It’s going to take hard work and determination to make sure we keep our promises to our kids, our neighbors, our businesses, and our seniors, but together we can build a better Danbury. I hope I can earn your support.”
