It's busy season for Connecticut lawmakers. They are crafting and floating ideas to make Connecticut a safer, happier place. One of those ideas just captured my attention and had me wondering what the public would think.
That said, I'm not here to judge, if you think your local dumpster has what you need inside of it, have at it. The real question lingers, is it even legal to dumpster dive in the great State of Connecticut?
The Putnam County Sheriff's Department issued a press release on Monday announcing the arrest of a New Jersey man. Multiple agencies worked in concert to arrest McDermott including: Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Westchester County Police, New York State Police, Carmel Police and Yorktown Police all assisted with the investigation.
However, residents here understand that this stereotype isn't entirely accurate, though it didn't just appear out of thin air. We do boast some upscale corners of Connecticut, and that often translates to exceptional dining experiences.
That is Connecticut's tax program to combat the litter caused by people throwing out their empty little liquor bottles. The idea is the state charges an additional nickel for each nip sold and that money goes back to the municipalities to clean the liquor bottles up. The problem is, some lawmakers don't think it is working.
