Plane descending. three minutes later, control attempts to get in touch with the plane, but no answer. at the same time the alarm goes off in the cockpit saying sink rate. that indicates the plane is going down quickly. shortly after that a loud bang on the door which is sonderheimer knocking on the door saying for god s sake open the door. the passengers can be heard screaming. at 10:35, a loud metallic bang on the door. that is apparently sonderheimer frantically attempting to get back into the cockpit. 90 seconds later, another warning inside the cockpit saying terrain, pull up. we are in very mountainous terrain. the plane is realizing it is not in a landing configuration and it appears it knows it is going ....
The captain said that because of the delay, he hadn t managed to go to the bathroom before taking off in barcelona. lubitz says don t worry, you can go at any time. now, that happens at around 38,000 feet when the plane reaches cruising altitude. at that point, again, lubitz tells the captain, you can go now. and the captain at that point does exit the cockpit. now, shortly after that the plane starts descending. this is something that s picked up by air traffic radar. and shortly after that at around 10:32 local time air traffic control tries to get in touch with the plane but receives no answer. again, a couple of minutes later, the pilot, the captain, can be heard banging on the outside of the door saying for god s sake open the door. however, of course andreas lubitz does not do that. then at around 5,000 meters in altitude a warning goes off in the cockpit saying pull up terrain. that of course because the plane is descending towards the mountains that are pretty high and ....
Was saying lr but it s an e.r. extended range aircraft, that s what asiana uses across the pacific. the delivery date was 2006, so it s a young plane by any definition for this sort of route. we can see the forward ladder extended. we can see it s in landing configuration. something happened which caused the aircraft to tail strike or to come down heavy which then has left the landing gear collapsing which has caused the aircraft to spin round and multiple times before leaving the runway. and what the investigators will focus on is the is those final moments of flight and then focus on the evacuation, the fire, which looks to have been fierce at the top of the fuselage. okay. just getting new information in, richard, from the 7faa, flights ....
