Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, has narrated how a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, persuaded Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, not to disrupt the 2009 governorship rerun election in Ekiti State.

The man who led Yoruba youth to attack the Fulani leader in his community, Sunday Adeyemo, (popularly known as Sunday Igboho), has hit out at President Buhari’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, over his claims that he is a political thug.
Mr Igboho, who spoke with journalists at his home in Ibadan, on Tuesday, said Mr Ojudu lied to have said they met in 2009, in preparation of a rerun election in Ekiti State.

It was in 2009. The Appeal Court sitting in Ilorin ordered a rerun in a number of polling units in the election between Segun Oni of PDP and
Oni had in the main election and the election petition tribunal that followed been declared winner of the gubernatorial contest. Our party , ACN contested this , hence the declaration of a rerun.
The election which came three months after the Appeal Court judgement was like war. The PDP ruling at the Federal level did not want to lose Ekiti while the opposition ACN led and financed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu wanted to take Ekiti by all means.

Details of a secret meeting between the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sunday Adeyemo, otherwise known as Igboho, has emerged.
The meeting which happened in 2009 was to persuade the businessman and activist from unleashing mayhem with his thugs during the Ekiti rerun election of that year.
This much was revealed by Special Adviser to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu.
Igboho has been in the news lately over the eviction notice he served to herders in Ibarapa local government area of Oyo state.
In a piece on Monday, Ojudu said with his support, Tinubu persuaded Igboho not to interfere with the 2009 rerun election in Ekiti state.
