Carleton ranked among the nation’s top liberal arts college announced Byerly will become its 12th president effective Aug. 1. Lafayette’s first female president announced in October that she planned to step down as the College Hill school’s 17th president when her current contract ends on June 30. “I want to congratulate Alison on behalf of the entire Lafayette community,” Lafayette Board of Trustees Chair Bob Sell said of her new job. “This announcement is a testament to Alison’s success as our president since 2013.
