On July 15, the event was again held virtually over WebEx. The morning session included lightning talks about productivity tools and “quick takes” on remote-development resources. Ian Lee, who serves as Computing’s alternate Organizational Information System Security Officer, presented a technical deep dive on the Lab’s software supply chain. The afternoon session provided presentations about career paths and the Lab’s diversity and inclusion goals, capped by a career development panel discussion co-sponsored by the Data Science Institute. ....
Lipscomb community mourns the loss of longtime security officer Lipscomb University and last updated 2021-01-24 20:29:13-05 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Maurice Conner s devotion to Lipscomb University started decades ago. His love for the university first started as a student. He graduated from there with a bachelor of arts degree in 1981. He then went on to earn his masters of arts degree from the university in Bible. For the last nearly 40 years, he was a security officer for the school. He mostly worked the third shift. He was physically a very large man. He was like 6 ft 9 it felt like, said Kyle Dickerson, executive director of Lipscombâs Department of Security, he was this gentle spirit that loved people and wanted to be in constant community with people. ....
After last week’s deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol, Nashville police and Lipscomb Security are remaining vigilant for planned armed protests at Nashville’s Legislative Plaza. The Federal Bureau of Investigations warned of protests in all 50 state capitols from January 16 through at least January 20. “Recent news stories have pointed to the potential for rallies surrounding the day of the inauguration, with Nashville being one of the places mentioned. There is no reason for alarm, but there is reason to be aware, as we have seen many rallies take negative turns over the last year,” said Lipscomb Security Executive Director Kyle Dickerson in an email to the student body Friday. ....
