The annual event takes place from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 and honors African heritage usually with large community gatherings. But, those gatherings are just not possible now during the pandemic.
“Kwanzaa’s about changing, improving, getting better,” said Dr. Kwaku L. Carlisle Woods.
Woods and his wife, Dr. Asi Hameeda Rahman-Woods, have been celebrating Kwanzaa for years.

Hudson Hall Hosts Virtual Kwanza Celebration | through January 2 On December 26, Hudson Hall, in cooperation with Operation Unite Education and Cultural Arts Center, kicked off a virtual community Kwanzaa Umoja celebration, which is running through January 1.
