No. 4 Softball Completes Series Sweep with 12-0 Win Over Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The No. 4 Florida State softball team (43-8, 19-2) dominated from start to finish on Sunday afternoon in a 12-0 run-rule victory over Notre Dame (29-16, 11-12-1) at Melissa Cook Stadium The Seminoles dominated all aspects of the game as they outhit the Irish 13-1 and committed just one error compared to the Irish's four errors. For the second straight game, the Seminoles wasted no time getting the offense going as Kaley Mudge led off the game with a double. Kalei Harding drew a walk, and Mack Leonard moved the runners to second and third on a groundout. Michaela Edenfield then hit one into shallow center field to score both Mudge and Harding. The Irish had their biggest threat of the game in the bottom of the first as a fielding error and a hit by pitch put runners on first and second, but the Seminoles turned their 10th double play of the season to get out of the inning. No. 5 Softball Races Past Hatters in 7-2 Win

DELAND, Fla. - Michaela Edenfield hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, and the fifth-ranked Florida State softball team (36-8, 13-2) never looked back in a 7-2 win over Stetson (23-23, 9-8) on Tuesday afternoon in Deland, Fla. The Seminoles have now won 15 out of their last 17 games.

Devyn Flaherty was hit by the very first pitch of the game to immediately get a runner on for the Noles. The Hatters were able to get back-to-back outs, but Edenfield hit a no-doubter over the left field wall for her eighth home run of the season to give the Noles the early 2-0 lead.

The Hatters got one run back in the bottom of the first, but a two-out error opened the door the Noles in the top of the second. After Josie Muffley singled with two outs, Flaherty hit a routine ground ball to second, but the first baseman was unable to haul it in. Noles Power Past Georgia Tech to Secure Weekend Sweep

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 7 Florida State softball team (29-7, 8-1) took the final game of the series to sweep the weekend against Georgia Tech (17-18, 2-10). The Noles picked up its second straight run-rule victory over the Yellow Jackets as they cruised to a 9-1 win in six innings. The Noles improved to 23-1 at JoAnne Graf field this season and have now won 26 straight games against the Yellow Jackets dating back to 2012. The Yellow Jackets threatened right away in the top of the first and loaded the bases with just one out. Mack Leonard fielded a groundball at first and threw home to get the lead runner. Josie Muffley then made a beautiful back handed play at shortstop and was able to throw the batter out at first to end the threat. The Noles made the Yellow Jackets pay as Kaley Mudge drew a leadoff walk, and Devyn Flaherty singled to put runners on first and second.
