Rest of us is cause for concern for people who live along this stretch of the Delaware River but many neighbors here tell us as long as the nearby canal doesnt flood, they feel relatively safe. You can get a pinch point up in yardley where the yardley inn is. Floods there and down here and sort of creates an island so the last time it happened i think it was 06 im not sure but we were mandatory evacuated. Rather than staying home next to the fire, we wander outdoors during the winter, too. Dressing appropriately and getting out there reveals winter wonders that you can t find at other times of the year. This is Amicalola falls, with the rising mist frozen on surrounding trees and icicles lining the rocky canyon wall. We share all of our tips for family friendly local excursions in NW Georgia and other outings further afield in our blog: http
