live from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 11:00. family, a community devastated an eight-year-old boy has died in a car crash in northeast philadelphia and the driver took off. but the story does not epidemic there. thank you for joining us at 11:00. i m lucy noland. police say witnesses followed that drive and so tonight police have him in custody. fox 29 s dave schratwieser is live at philadelphia police headquarters with how others dave stepped in to help, too. reporter: no doubt stepping up here tonight. heart-bring story five days before christmas. police tell us tonight the driver is in custody. he was speeding and weaving through traffic at the time of this fatal crash. a high ranking police source tells me he had a suspended license and more than 50 prior tickets. i was trying to talk to the little boy. i was telling him to hold on. reporter: jeanette was upset as she described her efforts to comfort an eight-year-old boy after a horrifi
