The event was Youth Opportunities Unlimited’s annual Youth Career Olympics, and nearly 100 students took part in contests that tested their job-readiness skills. This year, Youth Opportunities Unlimited rolled out the annual competition in a new and exciting way – through an online portal. Kewanee Police reports Friday Theft from a vehicle was reported at 8:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of East 11th Street. Michelle P. Workheiser, 28, of Kewanee, was given a notice to appear in court at 9 a.m. in the 200 block of Goodrich Street for failure to inoculate a dog. Theft over $500 was reported at 11 a.m. in the 400 block of East Third Street. Saturday An unwanted person was removed at 12:30 a.m. from the 100 block of Payson Street. Tara R. Derry, 25, of Monmouth, Ill., was ticketed at 9:30 a.m. in the 100 block of East Division Street for speeding 56 in a 30 mph zone. She was given a notice to appear in court. ....
