i m marla tellez. good morning, everybody, i m jon kelley. we start with the nation s employment look. job numbers for may coming out this morning, and we can tell you they re ugly, dismal. the markets not responding well to the news. down about 250. that s getting ugly as the day goes, dropping all day. business and tech reporter scott mcgrew has a look behind the numbers. good morning. if the jobs numbers were an economic speedometer, we are in no danger of getting a speeding ticket. the labor department says the american economy added just 69,000 jobs in may, unemployment ticked up 8.2%. huge jobs in construction were lost. participation rate, the number of people looking for jobs is low as well. so few jobs, people stopped trying. the number is now lower than during the recession. the most important consideration here is how our friends and neighbors are doing without jobs, but there s a little aspect to this as well. here is video of president obama, heard from ....
