Shawn Price May 26, 2021 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Gilbert Boit advanced to Eugene in the 10,000m with a runner-up finish in the distance race on the first evening of the NCAA West Preliminary round held at E.B. Cushing Stadium. Boit becomes the third Razorback to earn a trip to Oregon for the NCAA Championships. Boit used a final lap split of 59.76 seconds to move into second place as he posted a time of 29:10.36. Iowa State’s Wesley Kiptoo broke away from the field of 48 runners early and won the race in 28:50.11. BYU’s Conner Mantz finished third in 29:10.91. Shawn Price May 25, 2021 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 8 Arkansas makes a return visit to Texas A&M for the NCAA West Preliminary rounds this week as the first two rounds of the NCAA Championships is held at E.B. Cushing Stadium on Wednesday and Friday with the top 12 finishers in each event advancing to Eugene. “We have 27 entries this weekend along with two in the decathlon in Eugene, so we have 29 scoring opportunities while competing in 15 of the 21 events,” said Arkansas men’s head coach Chris Bucknam. “We also have both of our relays in. So, it feels good to go down as a team. It feels like the conference meet to us. That’s an advantage and a good situation for us to have a team atmosphere.” ....
Joining Arkansas this week are Arizona, No. 19 Arizona State, Kansas, No. 21 Kansas State, Missouri, UCLA, and Washington State. Field events begin at noon with running events following at 2 p.m., when the live stream on SEC Network + starts. “Competition-wise it’s great to see new faces and programs,” said Razorback men’s head coach Chris Bucknam. “It’s good for the sport and it’s good for us when we are able to bring those teams in here. Shawn Price January 14, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Starting the 2021 indoor season on Saturday with the Arkansas Invitational, the Razorbacks will host Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Harding, Oklahoma, UA-Pine Bluff and UA-Little Rock in a scored meet inside Randal Tyson Track Center. It will mark the first indoor track and field competition for Arkansas since winning the SEC Indoor championship last February, a span of 322 days. “It’s a baby step for us,” said Razorback men’s head coach Chris Bucknam, in his 13 th season at Arkansas. “We have been training in the fall, trying to have a normal fall training period for our non-distance runners. ....
