The Pennsylvania State Police continue efforts to enforce the stateâs COVID-19 mitigation orders at licensed restaurants, bars and clubs.
More than a dozen establishments operating in central Pennsylvania were cited in February by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. The number dropped from January when 32 establishments were cited.
The bureau oversees enforcement of establishments with liquor licenses and is ensuring Gov. Tom Wolfâs COVID-19 mitigation orders are being carried out. The unannounced visits are part of regular compliance checks, but some are prompted by complaints submitted by the public.
Officers are ensuring establishments are following pandemic protocols including mask-wearing by employees and customers, no bar seating, occupancy rules and an 11 p.m. alcohol sales cutoff. They also oversaw Wolfâs three-week indoor dining ban in December and pre-Thanksgiving Day early alcohol sales cutoff at 5 p.m.
