Janet M. “Jan” Mehr, age 86 of Brainerd died on November 19, 2023 at her home. She was born on December 25, 1936 in Roscoe, Minnesota to Leo and Gertrude (Hemmesch) Mackedanz. Jan married Art Mehr on July 14, 1956 in Paynesville.
Jean LaVonne (Moon) Sharp, known to many as Auntie Jean, and to the students of Crosby-Ironton Schools as Gramma Beehive due to her distinctive hairstyle, passed away at the St. Cloud hospital on October 27, 2023. She was 87 years old. She was an avid and skilled gardener, a meticulous housekeeper, a lover of decorating and entertaining for both family and her numerous friends, a rock solid supporter of Crosby-Ironton students and activities, a longtime collector of antiques and vintage items, a wonderful cook, an instructor of ceramic painting, and a firm follower of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings.
Lee Uglem, age 70, passed away October 8, 2023 at home surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with advanced prostate cancer. He was born and raised in Robbinsdale, moving to Deerwood at age four with his parents, Eugene and Dorothy Uglem. Lee served in the US Navy and sold real estate with his dad at Uglem Realty. He worked as a clerk/carrier for the United States Postal Service in Brainerd for over thirty years. Lee married Ellen Guy on September 30th, 1978 in Big Sky, Montana. His pride and joy were his daughters, Kelly and Sarah, and his four grandchildren. Lee loved to hunt ducks, geese and deer, and he loved all kinds of fishing. Lee founded the Cuyuna Range Ducks Unlimited chapter in the early 1980’s. He was a terrific golfer, and a life-long member of Cuyuna Country Club/Cuyuna Rolling Hills. Lee served as president of the Serpent Lake Association, and worked diligently to improve the water quality of the lake and maintain the lake’s buoys. Lee is survived by his w
David “Archie” Earl Archibald age 84 of Bay Lake Township died on September 17, 2023 in the same home where he was born to Mina Doty and Earl Conzit Archibald on November 22, 1938. He passed away after a hard-fought, six-year battle with cancer.
