The privatisation-bound BPCL added that it will sell its entire stake to a consortium of Oil India Ltd and Engineers India Ltd for Rs 9,876 crore. With this sale of the Numaligarh Refinery Ltd, the way has been cleared for privatisation of India s second-largest fuel retailer.

Assam Assembly Election: BJP and AGP begin talks on sharing of seats

STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: The maiden discussion on sharing of seats for the Assembly polls between two of the three-party ruling alliance namely the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) started at Dispur on Monday. Discussions with the UPPL (United People s Party Liberal) are also slated, added sources. The BJP side was represented by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, national general secretary Dilip Saikia, State party president Ranjeet Kumar Dass and State general secretary (organization) Phani Sarma. The AGP leaders present at the discussion were party president Atul Bora, working president Keshab Mahanta, Food & Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury and Member of Parliament Birendra Prasad Baishya.

State Bank of India Users Targeted with Text-phishing Scam

NEW DELHI: Online Phishing Scam in SBI Online: Several users of the State Bank of India (SBI) have been targeted with a phishing scam where hackers have flooded them with suspicious text messages, requesting them to redeem their SBI credit points worth Rs 9,870. The link associated with the text messages redirects the user to a fake website and on the landing page, the user is asked to submit personal information along with sensitive financial details like card number, expiry date, CVV and MPIN in a State Bank of India Fill Your Details form. According to the investigation by New Delhi-based think tank CyberPeace Foundation along with Autobot Infosec Private Ltd, the website collects data directly without any verification and is registered by a third party instead of having the registrant organisation name of State Bank of India, making it all the more suspicious.
