Rhode Island Corrections officer placed on leave as investigation continue into death of inmate

CRANSTON A corrections officer has been placed on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues into the death of a Lincoln man facing double murder charges while in custody of the Adult Correctional Institutions.
A spokesman for the state Department of Corrections confirmed Wednesday that an officer had been placed on leave as the death of 49-year-old Timothy McQuesten is being investigated by the Rhode Island State Police in conjunction with the department.
McQuesten was found unresponsive Monday night in his single cell at the state prison s Intake Service Center in Cranston, according to corrections officials.
He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The death is under investigation but foul play is not suspected, spokesman J.R. Ventura said. ....

Suspect accused of murdering Lincoln couple found dead

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): A man accused of murdering a couple inside of their apartment in Lincoln, was found dead inside of his cell.
Timothy McQuesten, 49, was found unresponsive in his single cell at the Intake Service Center on Monday, according to a spokesperson for the Rhode Island Dept. of Corrections.
The spokesperson released this statement to ABC6 News:
They immediately began performing CPR while they waited for Cranston Rescue to arrive. The inmate was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Department of Corrections Investigative Units and the Rhode Island State Police are still investigating the matter. No foul play is suspected.” ....

Lincoln murder suspect kills himself

LINCOLN – Timothy McQuesten, the suspect arrested for allegedly murdering a Manville couple last week, has killed himself in prison, according to authorities.
J.R. Ventura, chief of information and public relations officer for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections, confirmed the news in a statement to The Breeze.
“Yesterday evening, correctional officers found an inmate unresponsive in his single cell at the Intake Service Center. They immediately began performing CPR while they waited for Cranston Rescue to arrive. The inmate was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
