the gunman santino leggen saying we would never condone the hateful thoughts and idea ols that led to this event and it is impossible to reconcile this with the son we thought we knew. police say leggen was wearing a bullet resistant vest as he carried out the attack with an assault tile rifle. the suspect fired approximately 39 rounds during the course of this event. the gunman was shot multiple times by three responding police officers but died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. it s important to insure there is no ongoing threat to any community. the site of the festival is expected to reopen in the next day or two. after developed doors and community members have had a chance to retrieve belongings. i m chris nguyen, abc news. thank you. a funeral took place today for a 13-year-old victim of that gilroy shooting. friends and family members celebrated the life of caila salazar in stan jose. mourners is left remembrances on her casket as they entered
