JOHOR BARU: PKR will be selecting better candidates who would not betray the people’s mandate, says its vice-president Chang Lih Kang. The Tanjong Malim MP also expressed the party’s apologies to voters in Tebrau and Julau constituencies after their respective elected representatives Steven Choong Shiau Yoon and Larry Sng Wei Shien left for Perikatan Nasional. “We feel guilty, but PKR will make sure that the upcoming candidates would be those of those with integrity and have better capabilities then the present MPs, which betrayed the people’s mandate. That will be our guarantee, ” he said when met after attending a women’s right programme organised by the Tebrau PKR division at a shopping mall here on Saturday (March 6). ....

Former PKR lawmakers Sng and Choong handed over their statutory declarations (SDs) in support of Perikatan to the Prime Minister on Sunday and stated that they will be “government-friendly Independents”. Prior to this, Sng said he decided to leave PKR as there had been too much political instability in the past year.
